Thank you for helping us reach our goal!
Plus, the return of Telling Our Stories with Gabrielle Robinson on February 5.
Thank you to all who gave your financial support to the Michiana Jewish Historical Society in 2022. We set a goal of raising the necessary funds to purchase audio/video equipment to preserve what we gather in our Year of the Story 2023. We’re pleased to announce we’ve surpassed our goal and have purchased the equipment. Toda Raba to the Jewish Federation of St. Joseph Valley, and particularly to Moshe Kruger, for agreeing to split the cost and use of the equipment.

This event is for anyone with a story to tell. We all know the importance of our personal history, but often times the thought of writing it down or recording it is prohibitive for many reasons. These are important stories that need to be told, before they are lost or forgotten.
Our goal is to get together people who are interested to talk about any aspect of the Jewish community over the years--growing up in South Bend or coming to South Bend, about their synagogue, their neighborhood, changes they have observed, etc. We can brainstorm about your preferred format (writing your own story, interview style, video recording, audio recording, etc.)
Gabrielle Robinson is emeritus faculty at IUSB's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She is also the author of the book "Kurt Simon: Businessman and Benefactor" and was a contributing writer for many years in the pages of Our Community Newsletter.
Thank you for helping us reach our goal!
Is the event only for folks with stories about Jewish families in South Bend, or open to the broader Mi Juana area..ie. goshen and Elkhart. Thank you
