"Telling Our Stories" workshop is Sunday...will you be there?
Author & historian Gabrielle Robinson will lead the conversation at the Jewish Federation of St. Joseph Valley
The Michiana Jewish Historical Society and the Jewish Federation of St. Joseph Valley proudly present "Telling Our Stories" -- a storytelling workshop with local author and historian Gabrielle Robinson.
When: Sunday, February 5 at 11 AM
Where: The Jewish Federation of St. Joseph Valley (Zoom option also available)
This event is for anyone with a story to tell. We all know the importance of our personal history, but often times the thought of writing it down or recording it is prohibitive for many reasons. These are important stories that need to be told, before they are lost or forgotten.
Our goal is to get together people who are interested to talk about any aspect of the Jewish community over the years--growing up in South Bend or coming to South Bend, about their synagogue, their neighborhood, changes they have observed, etc. We can brainstorm about your preferred format (writing your own story, interview style, video recording, audio recording, etc.)
Gabrielle Robinson is emeritus faculty at IUSB's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She is also the author of the book "Kurt Simon: Businessman and Benefactor" and was a contributing writer for many years in the pages of Our Community Newsletter, including this story from the original “Telling Our Stories” series featuring community member, Janina Goetz.
