A gift that will last a lifetime and beyond
This Hanukkah, by supporting Michiana Jewish Historical Society you ensure that future generations will come to know and appreciate the community we call home.
We wish you, your family and friends a Hanukkah full of light, lasting memories and lots and lots of latkes! And during this special time of year, we hope you’ll remember the labor of love that is your Michiana Jewish Historical Society, steadfastly sharing stories from our community and presenting our history to today’s generation in new and interesting ways.
This year, and every year, a donation you make to our organization is the gift you give future generations. Because of supporters like you, we’ve been able to:
Launch a video archive including stories about families, businesses, and people from throughout our Michiana Jewish community
Add more names to our community Family Tree — 11,000 names and growing!
Scan additional archival material to accompany the 888 documents and 3,485 photographs in our Digital Archive
Host family programs such as this year’s Scavenger Hunt highlighting Jewish businesses (past and present) throughout downtown South Bend
Present to organizations in the greater Michiana community on a variety of topics pertaining to our community’s Jewish history
All of us in the Michiana Jewish community have a lot to be proud because MJHS exists – and we couldn’t do it without your generous support! In the coming year, your continued support will enable us to:
Continue family programs that help children and families learn more about the Michiana Jewish community and their own family’s special history
Expand our digital archive to include more photos and documents – and oral histories that we’ve collected through the decades
Make family tree information available electronically – to those with family connections
Thank you very much for your past financial support - it’s been critical to our success. We ask you to increase your contribution from last year’s very generous donation – or continue at that level.
Sincerely,
The Michiana Jewish Historical Society
